Now that I’m into my 60s, I’ve found exercise is even more crucial for both the body and mind. Furthermore, having older parents and friends with older parents, means I can see how vital it is to keep fit and become healthier now, rather than later.
It’s clear to me the stronger you can make yourself earlier in life, it is going to pay dividends later on. As a personal trainer working with clients in their 40, 50s, 60s and beyond, I’m dedicated to helping people get fit for life.

For my clients, the phrase ‘variety is the spice of life’ definitely applies. A variety of exercise is important, since it stops it from becoming a chore. I find creating habits is absolutely key, and it is never too late to start a healthy routine.
As long as you are exerting yourself on the whole, no session needs to be longer than 45 mins.
Hiring me as your personal trainer is one of the best ways to stay motivated and on track. Working with clients throughout Brighton, Hove and Southwick, I can help you create an effective routine in your 50s and above. I can also advise on your diet and help combat those cravings.
My Weekly Training: What Does it Involve?

Monday
On Mondays I like to do a full body weight workout in circuit format. This is a wake up from
most of Saturday and Sunday, which is usually exercise free.
Circuit training with weights increases your metabolism, so you burn more calories during and after your workout. It helps you gain lean muscle, which burns more calories, increases your aerobic capacity and strengthens your heart and lungs. It also improves your stamina and muscular endurance.
Strength training can increase your joint range of motion, which improves your flexibility.
It improves your insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels.
Most importantly it gets my endorphins going, so I feel happy to start the week. This is my favourite way of training and as a personal trainer, I find it can be adapted to all age groups. Whether you’re seeking a personal trainer for older men or women, I will tailor exercise plans to meet your needs. Why not check out my transformations to see what I can achieve? No matter if your goals are building muscles, weight loss or a healthier lifestyle (or all three), my personal training services could be ideal.
Tuesday
I kick off the day with a 45 minute run, making use of the surrounding hills of Hove which take me up to the beautiful downs.
There are various benefits to running up hills, including improved leg strength, better running mechanics, increased cardiovascular fitness, enhanced endurance and a higher calorie burn. Whether you wish to work out at my studio or out and about, I can help.
Wednesday
This is a slower weight training day. I concentrate on muscle and strength gain.
Whether you’re based in Brighton, Hove or Southwick, I have a private home studio where you can do these types of exercises in privacy.
Thursday.
This is the day of my big run of the week. On Thursdays, I run down to Brighton seafront up through Hove and back through Portslade to Southwick. I normally run for about 75 minutes and am usually slightly achy afterwards. But I feel amazing and like I’ve achieved something!
Friday
I repeat Monday’s training schedule, which helps get me ready for a busy weekend.
Saturday
In the morning, I do my final exercise of the week- hooray! I do a shorter run, then focus on core exercises.
As your 30th birthday becomes further and further away, it’s important to strengthen your core, which in turn supports your back.
The daily routine I have might seem a little over the top! However, I have also embraced a healthier lifestyle in other ways, including stopping drinking and partying as a habit. For 25 years when I had my restaurants, to me every night was a Saturday night. It’s taken me a long time to realise embracing this healthier lifestyle is actually more rewarding and enjoyable.
As an experienced personal trainer for adults aged 50+, I can help you to create a healthy
lifestyle, incorporating strength training which is key to a healthy heart and mind.
I hope this was of some help!
